I am the executive assistant to the CEO of a medium-sized company and in my 3 ½ years on the job, our company has tripled in size and my boss has gone from a rising local businessman to international speaker. While all of this is going on, I work unassumingly in the background scheduling visits with TV stars and heads of state. On any typical day, you might find me planning to host a lunch for the governor, sewing up a sagging seam in a designer jacket or helping to manage a project so everyone comes up smelling like roses. I love my job. Working at the right hand of a successful businessperson is akin to career boot camp and I’ve been taking notes.
